Credentialled Diabetes Nurse Educator

Christine’s interest in diabetes management began in the 1980s when a family member and school friend were both diagnosed. She has a Graduate Certificate of Diabetes Education from Deakin University and achieved credentialled status in 2003 before going on to establishe a diabetes outpatients clinic in South Gippsland.

She joined Bendigo Primary Care Centre team in 2017.

Christine’s focus is on person-centred care. Supporting patients to determine their own priorities and needs in order to achieve the best outcomes and reduce the potential complications of diabetes. Her one-on-one consultations for people living with type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes aim to help people master strategies and self-management skills to address their condition and improve their quality of life.

Christine can provide initial and future assessments and has a keen interest in technologies designed to help people monitor their glucose levels and make informed decisions regarding diet, physical activity and medication.
